For my Authorship and Interaction final project we were instructed to follow one of the four questions given to us, however the question we chose had to fall under the same criteria as the question we chose for our Theory essay question.

Therefore as i chose question number two for my essay that put into question the issues of authorship within an electronic environment i undertook question number two 'Ones and Zeros (digital nature)'.

For this Final Project my objective was to create a digital platform that questioned and highlighted Authorship, my aim is to allow everyone to put on show their innovations for free stating an open source ideology within the project.

Open Screen is the idea of a digital frame that with the aid of a QR reader and of a third party open program will allow anyone with a smart phone or tablet to post their images or work for the greater audience.

Open Screen consits of three components;

1- Digital frame

2- QR code that will take you to the editing program for your work.

3- Pixlr Express the open source editing software.

The aim of the Open Screen is to make it available to everyone to use and see, therefore the locations for its placing are going to be public spaces, e.g. Tubes, Bus stops, shopping centers, restaurants. etc.

Further more people will also be allwed to remix existing ideas, promoting the idea of copy left movement,.

This does not mean that the work and ideas will be stolen, quite the ci=ontrairy. Open Screen will offer legal protections to ebvry innovation submitted meaning the idea will be secure to its author and as a result the showing of all these new innovations will stimulate inspirations for further innovations for the public.

The size of Open Screen can very depending on its surrounding however it would be ideal to manufacture all of them the same size to keep the iconic look.

The idea is to make it look like modern painting frame but instead of the painting use a hd Led smart screen that would display images/ videos sent through Bluetooth or email.

With the aid of the QR reader the users will be able to gain access to the 'Pixlr Express' app that will allow them to edit their images.

The app will access the users phone images/ computer images and will give you a selection of effects and adjustments that the user can use to perfect the presentation of their image to send to the 'Open Screen'.

'Open Screen's' esthetics will look like so; black frame protecting the led smart screen.
the initial layout is going to be simple and encouraging for the audience.

An idea is to have a video initially playing instructing the audience how 'Open Screen works.

Furthermore on the starting up page the QR code will be displayed rather large on the screen however when images and videos are playing the qr will alwatys be displayed at the bottom corner.

These images demonstrate how 'Open Screen' will blend in with the urban life found in the most public spaces.

Due to being in public places it will be necessary to protect the screens from any form of vandalism and theft therefore all the screens will hold a GPS Tracker in case of theft and also most public places are under CCTV making it easy to survival the screens.

With the aid of 'QRStuff.com' i was able to make a QR code that would connect the audience to the photo editor "Pixlr Express' by directing them to the app downloading page.

To do this i had to obtain the app link from the 'Apple app store and save it in the given option in "QRStuff.com.

One of the main objectives of 'Open Screen' is to display peoples ideas, innovations and work for both advertising reasons and inspiration reasons.

By allowing to many different ideas display on the 'Open Screen' in public spaces we hope to inspire other individual to create, innovate and design.

Also by leagally protecting every image/video, work cannot be copied thus further stimulating inspiration towards new innovations.

This videos represents how the user can take part and use 'Open Screen' freely and easily.

The sharing method requiers users to have access to;

1- Smart Phone

2- Internet (mobile data)

3- QR code reader app

4- 'Pixlr Express' (if user dosn't have it 'Open Screen" takes him/her to the downloading page)

5- Work/s to share.

Further more when sharing the image the email that the users will send it to will be 'inspiration@openscreen.co.uk' instead of 'daniele.palombo@my.westminster.ac.uk.

This next image allows you to see how the "Open Screen' will work in the public spaces and how well it will adapt to its surrounding but at the same time share high quantity of innovations ideas and inspirations to every one also allow young talents to post and share theire ideas and hopefully attract a business opportunities.

'Open Screen' will supply two versions of the screen one aimed at the private locations eg.restaurant,bars etc.

This version will include:

- Screen Sizes (4 to choose from).

- Volume Buttons (adjustable volume).

- 2 USB ports.

- 1 HDMI port.

- Navigation Buttons on side of screen.

Furthermore this version of screen allows users to open the back and modify/improve the system, maintaining an Open Software mentality. Thus 'Open Screen Encourages both education and information sharing.

However the 'Open Screens' that will be assigned at the more public locations such as bus stops, tube stations etc. Will hold a bit more restrictions, the size will be one a 40inch screen this screen will not hold USB and HDMI ports, Adjustment buttons and Volume buttons.

The way the screen will be set up will be both wireless from head quarters of 'Open Screen' system maintenance.
and through the use of remotes used by the maintenance team of 'Open Screen' that will hold out a regular check for the screens.

What 'Pixlr Express' will bring the the 'Open Screen' experience will be within giving the users the possability to play and be creative with their images that they choose to share.

This photo editing app allows usere to adjust the image's properties, add and remove from the image. All of this can be done on a smartphone for free.

It is obvious that once 'Open Screen' takes off within the business world the aim would be to create an app like 'Pixlr Express and add to it to make it more comparable with 'Open Screen' further more we will aim to make it an Open source Software thus encouraging users to improve the app.

As a conclusion to this we will no longer relay on external apps but supply our own suited especial for 'Open Screen'.

To conclude the idea and mentality that brought to this project that is 'Open Screen' was born from my research and understanding of Open Source Software, that understanding also allowed me to express my own thinking and ideologies through the essay that produced putting into question authorship with in our societies.

Having asked myself this questioned and analyzing its pros and cons led me to think why cant we promote authorship as art rather than as a title to make a profit from?

This was when 'Open Screen' was born. The idea of having digital platforms almost everywhere for everyone to see and where anyone can share information and innovations.

"Open Screen' allows anyone to become an author of art and put on show their creations for free, at the same time it allows people to get known only for their abilities and skills.

Therefore with 'Open Screen' we aim to create a more free and fun way to bring authorship within our society.
